Lupo's Char-Pit
About This Spot
Stepping up to Lupo's Char-Pit, you're greeted by the unmistakable charm of a no-frills, walk-up window that seems to have stood the test of time with quiet confidence. There's an easygoing rhythm here—a familiar hum of conversations, the occasional sizzle from the grill, and the welcoming nods of neighbors who’ve been coming back for decades. It’s the kind of place where time slows down just enough to appreciate the simple joy of good food and honest company.
The atmosphere moves at its own comfortable pace, perfectly suited for those looking to grab a satisfying meal without the fuss—whether you’re popping in solo or sharing a casual moment with friends and family. Outside, picnic tables invite you to linger a bit, soaking in the passing scenes of Endicott’s daily life while your meal settles in.
At the heart of Lupo’s experience is its signature spiedie sub—a local staple that seems to capture a unique blend of charred, tender meats steeped in a sauce that’s both familiar and distinct. Whether you find yourself torn between the pork and chicken versions or simply content with the spicy kick of fried hot peppers layered in, each bite carries a quiet history of community and tradition. Alongside these sandwiches, the fries and cheeseburgers round out the meal in a way that feels less like a menu and more like comfort food rooted in shared memories.
What makes Lupo’s feel particularly special is its unchanged, nostalgic quality—like rediscovering a favorite moment from childhood or connecting with a local ritual that spans generations. This is a spot where service is brisk but friendly, and every order is handed over with a sense of pride that’s palpable if you listen closely. It doesn’t try to be anything more than a reliable stop for flavorful, no-nonsense fare, and in doing so, it becomes a quiet cornerstone of the neighborhood.

Quaint walk up window type location. Our service was fast and friendly. The spiedes are top notch and on classic bread. We generally opt for the pork as they seem to match the flavor of the sauce better than the chicken. I would pass on the fried pierogis but that's not why you come here.

I love it so much! It is basically the same as I remember from when I was 8 years old (42 years ago) it tastes so good and it is so nostalgic. It's worth the 1100 mile drive for me from south Georgia.

Been here a half dozen times and can never remember what is better, the chicken or pork spiedie sub. So we get both... Turns out they are both good but the chicken is the better of the two. It's tender and packed full of spiedie flavor with some char on it as well. Absolutely delicious. Kids love the cheeseburgers and fries. Grab your food and sit at the picnic tables outside or we find a local park and have a picnic.
